Stormy Hill Harley-Davidson, located outside of Orlando in Clermont, Florida, is Suspension Technologies’ dealer of the month for December 2018. We spoke with Jim Anderson, Sales Manager for Stormy Hill, about the dealership and Suspension Technologies and Elite Technologies USA’s products.

Q: Tell us about your shop?

For the last 16 years, the Stormy Hill Harley-Davidson has been family owned and operated dealership. Janice Malik is the Dealer Principle and Store Owner. She took over the reins after her father passed away a number of years ago.

Q: Why do enthusiasts come to Stormy Hill H-D

Stormy Hill Harley-Davidson started life before the cookie cutter dealerships came online. It’s a smaller footprint but big in customer service and ambiance.  Management encourages patrons to come in and take a load off. Some dealerships offer coffee and donuts, Stormy Hill offers afternoon beer.

Family owned, the dealership provides a warm and amicable environment that becomes a great destination or stop off on expeditions to other parts of Florida.

Here is what one customer had to say:

Let me begin by saying my husband has a Harley addiction so we have been to many HD Dealers across the country, and purchased many bikes over the years:  This is by far the best!  From the moment we walked in we were treated with professionalism and respect, no hard sell at this dealer.  JR was amazing and I appreciated all the time they took to make sure my husband got what he wanted and was completely satisfied with the end product.

Q: What does American-made mean to you?

The quick answer is “Built in the USA.”

The long answer is every dollar spent in manufacturing adds $1.89 in business growth in other supporting sectors. The United States has 12.75 million manufacturing jobs that employ 8.5 percent of the workforce. These jobs pay 12 percent more than all others. In 2017, they earned an average of $84,832 per worker.

Q: What bike do you ride?

I ride a trike featuring Black Hills Series Shocks and use it as a demonstrator.  With the shocks, the trike rides like it has power steering. Handling is phenomenally different. Almost every trike goes out the door with Black Hills Series Trike Shocks.

Q: What are your favorite Suspension Technologies or Elite Technologies USA products?

We’ve found success with all their products including Suspension Technologies’  shocks and frontend cartridges as well as the Elite Technologies USA’s Harley-Davidson Street™ trike conversion and MRP reverse. We like them all.

Race inspired Black Hills Series Shocks makes your Bagger and inspired ride.

Q: What do your customers say about Suspension Technologies products?

The shocks get the most comment because you feel the immediate impact. Our customers love them, they tell their friends and we get exceptional word of mouth promotion.

Q: What is your favorite bike your shop has built with Suspension Technologies product?

We put the Black Hills Series shocks on our Harley-Davidson Street Glide and our Harley-Davidson Road Glide motorcycles. We allow our customers to do back to back road tests and these shocks become one of our competitive advantages.

Q: Any cool news about your shop?

We are looking forward to seeing the electric bikes coming out in 2019.
